One of the main objectives of ALCALIBER is to ensure strict safety control in the agricultural and industrial production of its products, and in their marketing.alcaliber

In concordance with this objective, Spanish legislation in the field is strict. Thus, on March 1, 1966 Spain signed the Single Convention of 1961 on Narcotics, and on January 4, 1977, ratified the Modification Protocol of the mentioned Convention.

As part of this Convention, Spain is obliged to adopt the specific measures required to guarantee that no derivation from legal cultivation and production occurs towards the illegal drug market. In this setting, Spain is required to present an annual report to the International Narcotics Fiscalizing Board on the production, manufacture, consumption, stocks and decommissioning of Narcotic Raw Materials, together with trimestrial information on exports. This information is elaborated jointly with ALCALIBER, which in turn is obliged to supply the national authorities with the required data.

On an internal basis, and according to Order 7 of May 1963, and the Narcotics Law of April 8, 1967, the cultivation of plant species destined for narcotics production is forbidden, except when expressly authorized to the effect. In compliance with these norms, many control and reporting mechanisms have been implemented by ALCALIBER and by the national and international authorities, ranging from individualized authorization per farmer together with suitability certification from the corresponding Provincial Agricultural Authorities, to individualized police escort for each product shipment – whether agricultural or industrial.

Likewise, with the purpose of ensuring due custody of the different facilities and crops, ALCALIBER not only receives police protection and vigilance, but has also contracted a 24-hour private security service, with the most modern televigilance measures – thereby guaranteeing complete security coverage of the system.
